Hi Reader,
As we move towards a holiday break, I’d like to share a holiday greeting card from all of us Chief Project Officers here at Projects Pivot.
Cheryl Allen, PMP
Cheryl taught my Project Management Professional (PMP) prep course at UC Berkeley years ago. Cheryl has decades of project management experience across various industries and is based out of Truckee, California.
Chery’s holiday plans:
“During the holidays I enjoy being outdoors in the snow, singing Christmas music with my choir, and cooking and eating goodies! And of course spending time with my family.
On the other hand, I dislike the traffic jams and crowded grocery stores when tourists arrive in Truckee. My challenge is to remain joyful and friendly to everyone in line. I must admit, I also don't enjoy driving in the snow.”
Annie MacLeod, PMP
Annie is based out of Kelowna, British Columbia, and is the creator of the Project Management GameBoard. Annie prioritizes collaboration as an essential skill for tackling complex projects.
Annie’s plans over the holidays:
“During the holiday season, my favorite things are spending time with family and friends and enjoying delicious food together. And I love to have countless cookie-baking adventures, filling my house with warmth and sweet aromas.
However, the one place I would rather not be during this festive time is a bustling mall. I prefer the comfort of home over the crowded chaos of holiday shopping.”
Barbara Kephart, PMP
And what about me? I’m based in Hamilton, Ontario. I believe in the importance of working effectively with the people behind our projects, all while managing risks and helping everyone adapt to change, so we can get the project done effectively.
Some of my favorite holiday pastimes include hiking in the snow with my family and making snow angels in the woods. I particularly enjoy a simple holiday, such as baking cookies then snuggling on the couch to watch classic movies featuring Charlie Brown, Rudolph, and Bing Crosby.
My least favorite aspect of the holiday season is being in traffic, especially during a blizzard!
Enjoy the holiday break
May everyone’s eyes sparkle, may laughter fill the air, and may your gatherings be filled with kindness, generosity, and appreciation towards each other.
This will be our last newsletter for a few weeks. We’ll see you here again in January 2025!
